In 1970, the first group of activities were launched under the umbrella of the company "Giorgetti & Magrini" . Over time, engineer Giorgio Magrini and architect Franco Giorgetti delivered more than 200 projects with their teams. From prestigious sail and motor yachts, over racing yachts, to professional vessels and patrol ships were designed and produced in steel, light alloy, fibreglass and wood.
During the 70's, the company gained a leading market position in the design and delivery of large yachts. Renomated yachts like S/Y Toy, M/Y Eledi (wood), S/Y Juppiter II and M/Y Romantica carry the typical G&M signature.
During the early 80's, a second focus on extended refit projects was launched. Yachts like M/Y Pacha III (for HM Princess Carolina of Monaco) and later on S/Y Creole (for the Gucci Family) and Tevega are just some examples of structural refit projects by this team. Both classic yacht and maritime heritage restoration were derived as niche activity from this team. The reconstruction of a 17th century 40m Galea Genovese in 2004 was one of its highlights.
Between 1982 - 1987, a dedicated team with focus on racing yachts was launched. The ultimate result was the design and construction of 2 America's Cup yachts, Italia I and Italia II.
Also during the 80's, an industrial branch of activities was born. Design and production of tugs, large gas pontoons and 40m patrol units for the Italian Navy resulted from this unit.
In 1992, the management consulting branch was launched. Based upon 20 years of industrial experience, this team was involved in, amongst others, the restructuration of famous shipyards like Cantieri Baglietto and Ortona Navi. Mergers and acquisitions in the nautical industry, startup of new technological companies, relocation of industrial activites are core activities of this team.
In 1998, the manufacturing company WMagic was created in Tunisia and managed by historical partner Giorgio Magrini on behalf of Wally Yachts. In 2004, the company General Bateaux was created together with Cantieri Baglietto and Cantieri di Pisa in Tunisia in order to produce composite hulls for megayachts. In 2008, the General Bateaux was sold for 100% to the Baglietto Group.
In 2009, the marina projects branch was launched with a first prestigious project of the marina in Bizerte (Tunisia).
In 2011, the activities through different branches, units and teams were reorganised. The restructured result of this was gathered into the company Giorgetti Group in 2012. From the early 70's until today, all branches and teams were developed with an international attitude, with activities from all over Europe, to Northern Africa and the Middle East.
Today, Giorgetti Group gathers 4 areas of activities :
